Is DLP done?

i too have a 46 samsung dlp 720 p, wish it was 1080p but eh, i paid 750 for it about two years ago, still going strong and looks sweet. I would reccomend one, especially a led one because their only flaw is bulb goes out but led lasts way longer

I don't have a cable box, or seen one in quite a while, arn't they outdated? Whats wrong with simple coax cable i'm not looking for hd quality, just a large cheap projection. I'm seeing quite alot of $300-600 dlp projectors on ebay, I would imagine the "fancy," ones costing quite a bit more.

LCD is much older tech than DLP.

I have no idea why anyone would say DLP is "done" Both are good.

LCD is known to have better color resolution, and DLP is generally brighter (in the same price and wattage) and has much better contrast and blacks.

If your in a bright room or want really good black contrast then go for DLP. If you have a nice dark room, you can afford a projector with enough lumens and are more interested in color resolution then go for LCD.

Neither tech is going away anytime soon.
