Is DB Drag dead?

Amen, got to be willing to go a ways. Last weekend I went a bit past chicago for the caco competition, 6.5+ hour drive (started driving at 2am to get there) and it was a good time
I think you are missing some of the ppl's point. In the past I could of went to 30 plus shows over the summer now Im down to well a big fat ZERO now. And honestly no. Im not driving down to maryland mabye a 2 hour drive. For dbdrag witch, After the last drag I went Im never going to one again. Guy wanted us to be there at 10 for sign ups and to start going throw the lanes. It wasent to after 4 is when he said. I'll give it 2 more hours before I'll start the brakets. Sorry I dont want to be at a show that runs the entire 24 hours of the day.

Man that's gotta ****. I know our local judge here wants to get shiot done and get people home as early as possible. He tries to keep it around a 4 hour show, from qualifying to handing out trophies.

:Edit: As far as Finals go it kinda sucks it's that far away from the majority of its competitors but I'm sure Wayne did what he could (I hope). It's about 14 hours from me and I'm still headed down there with my Points chaser to ninja a trophy.

^^^That's how things should be.But with alot of the littler ones they seem to want to get as many people to participate so they keep the lanes open. For the regulars it sucks but for the newer guys or ones who are just there to see what its about really don't know sometimes. Its nice to have a judge thats prompt though.

Is there a better suited place than Tulsa?

Finals is right in the middle of the country. Its fair for east and west coast competitors both. I will be on the road for 14 hours to get to Tulsa, and someone from Chicago will be on the road for 10 hours. I think it would be silly for me to drive 24 hours so that people from Chicago can push their cars to finals.

In theory Tulsa location wise is quite central to both coasts, but you need to look to where the vast majority of ppl that qualified for WF are from. I read it on Termpro that like 90% or more were from the central US to East Coast.

It sounds to me that maybe a new Competition Organization needs to be started and make a big push on all of the locale car audio dealerships across the country. Have a state finals and the winners of the state finals goes on to World Finals and have it at three locations at the same time across the country through the internet. Combine parts of each different organization for something where any one can compete whether they are in MECA, Db Drag, USACi, or what ever they may be in now. All money for fees pays for World Finals and all money for locale shows is for the host / dealer. This way we work with the locale dealers to sponsor competitors instead of depending on the manufactures to carry the load on something that does not make them much money right now. Then, once the dealers are making extra money in SPL competitions, it will be only a matter of time before the manufactures are back to sponsoring competitors once again.

If any one here is old enough to have been around the competition world back in its hay day (mid to late 90's) they will remember that it all started with locale dealer support and I think it has died without locale dealer support. But, that is just what i think ??

Well put. I would be all for this

I think Db drag in the states is dying down.I think its bad when you have only 20 competitors at a 3x.back in the late 90's and early 2000's you had 60+ at 3x's. overseas is where db drag is peaking now. hopefully it can get going again over here.

It's cool.... I was wanting him to respond so I could mess with him a bit BUT, he dipped out before I could.. I was going to set him off on the same tangent he went down over on the Steve Mead forum. A bunch of the "Meaders" was attempting to tell Stacy how much louder he is than anything Stacy has every built and so on and so forth.....
