Plasma Tweeters. Who has heard them?

I am finding out how my ribbon tweeters work, and ran across some info about supposedly the most ideal high frequency transducer, called a plasma/ ion tweeter.

I searched it on youtube, and this came up.

If thats real, I want some. Wouldnt the connection points get pitted and burned from the arcing eventually?

They're real.

I've built a few and they're generally harsh quality, unless you use a higher frequency ZVS PWM driver (80khz+1MHz) and a custom wound flyback transformer to match. These are the ones with the "large yellow or purple spark."

Not that loud at all.

I built them when I thrived in the high voltage hobby.

In some areas they're illegal due to the interference caused by them. I read it so it must be true.

are they expensive to make?

and do they take a lot of prior knowledge of the subject to build them, or are they pretty straight forward with directions?

The one in posted above link is based on a tube, in order to reach higher frequencies. The one in the first post is solid state. Each have the pros and cons.
