is Clarion going down the drain?

am i alone in thinking that their newer decks are declining? of the probably 10-12 decks ove owned, probably 9 of them have been clarion, and ive always liked them, the deck in my current care is a 2 year old model, and i love it...but while roaming around today at a stereo place here in minneapolis i saw the "brand new" releases and they ahd 2 clarions there, and they look stupid and the features pale in comparison to the kenwood and alpine decks next to it in the same price range...maybe its just me...but i think im somewhat disapointed...

i never really could get past the looks of the clarion, so i have never used one.

havent played with the brand new ones but i have the 855 its bit flashy but it has great SQ. I wouldnt mind owning a high end kenwood though, they sound good to me

I like my Clarion. DXZ845MC I think its around a 2003 model.

yea i have a VRX935VD and i love it...its a great model, rock solid...cant tell you how many times the screen has been opened and closed...not one problem, with the exception of some of the "chrome" covering comming off 1 or 2 of the buttons...but otherwise, its flawless...im a clarion guy, but the new stuff doesnt seem the same

I have a DXZ655MP in my moms jeep, a DXZ855MP either destended for my S-10 or T/A, and a VRX755VD in my nissan. I love them all and like the way they look.

ummmm......have you not seen the DRZ9255?? 8 channel, 4 way crossover, 8 volt out, 24 bit burr brown da converter, .5 db incriment on volume, subwoofer control, parametric eq, time alignment, really top notch sq unit.

That is an old design brought back...not one of the new models....It is a very nice high end model ...though
