Is anyone on here running Atomic or T3 Audio products?

I’ve had apxx and was not a fan of it at all, also know other people who ran atomic and atomic OEM built woofers and would have spiders fail and surround fails in higher power situations. Atomic was nice 10years ago but today’s market they are left in the dust

I liked my apxxThey like monster boxes tuned higher and don't like the lows as much as some of the other brands
My box could have been my problem. I had the same box for three woofers. It was 7cubes tuned to 35hz with 105” of port for a single 18.. the DD9918 yellow Kevlar cone woofer loves that box.. then I added a baffle and put a kicker solo x 18 in there and it was impressive... then I got to try a apxx 18 my brother had in that box and it sounded like crap, coil would get stinky fast, it did not like life... that was on a Rockford t2000.1 slab amp, this was back in like 2008-2009

i asked same q while back.. really wanted a manhattan 12 bad but like u say u gotta go to a dealer and can't get any kind of a discount shopping online.. found a few one ebay new but it had the correct cone on a lower end basket and idk what to make of that and the manhattan is just not as strong of a sub as could be had online for $200 or less.. some of their spl subs are awesome, saw video guy put a 8" in a 5 gallon bucket with port on it, hit like 150 lol..
Must've been TaylorFade.
Yea I'm pretty sure TFade made a bass bucket 8. There was a guy in Texas who put a DD 9510 in an old wine barrel and was doing somewhere around a 150 as well.

If your goal is a one-note-wonder box 6th order bandpass has potential on paper, though I've not seen anybody putting up great numbers with one.
Not sure what a good 700W "SPL" sub is these days but I'd avoid T3 outside of the TSNS series and as I said with their track record be careful sending them money.

What size woofer are you looking for? How much box space do you have? What amp are you using? How much are you looking to spend?

That's a shame about T3's business practices, the TSNS looks seriously badass and the 600 and 1000 look pretty beefy for what they are.

I'm most likely going to use a single 10. I'm limited on the opening of the trunk, I might be able to slide it in from the front of the trunk with the back seats folded down. New Mustangs have goofy shaped trunk openings. I figured I could get a 3:1 4th order in and out pretty easily. This is a pure budget minded spl setup designed to be used strictly for competitions and it will be removed immediately. Amp will probably be a CAB1600 because I'm anticipating rise to 3 or 4 ohms from a nominal of 1 so I need about 700w at 4ohms. Other subs in consideration are AB XFL and Sundown Ev3 (already have one just sitting around collecting dust.)

I have an SPL Lab meter and I plan on purchasing an AMM-1 during tax season, so I plan on doing plenty of testing and rebuilding the box if I need to.

T3 had just come out when I was getting out of Car Audio. From what I can remember though, they were solid built products. I think there were a couple issues with customer service and maybe a bad pre/group order or something. Don't hold me to it.

One of the loudest subs I ever put in my Impala was an Atomic APX 12.. Did a 151.8 on the TL with 3kw. The T3 TSNS from what I remember were comparable, but I think had a little better response curve than the APX. At the time I was just trying to get loud.

Well you certainly accomplished that!

Well, assuming the TSNS is using the same motor they used to they are probably still good but they were 4" coil. There's 4 or 5 160+ builds up here that use them but they all use a LOT of power. I'd be shopping for 2.5" coil myself if I were competing

Look into the Atomic Apocylpse. Its a 2.5" coil sub that can produce good output
That's the one I've been sort of looking at. If they measure sensitivity at 1w/1m it looks to be pretty efficient compared to others in its class.

I've been attracted to Atomic because their subs seem to offer higher sensitivity than others. I haven't completely ruled out a custom built sub.

Might be they're built to order or could be custom built for your application. Anyways, out of the two, I'd lean towards Atomic. They build a lot in-house and use high quality materials.

I just noticed that Car Audio Bargain is selling T3-T1000 motors for $27 + ship. Seems like a pretty good deal. Their website says it takes a 2.4in coil, which seems like a weird size.
"Good deal" = it's bottom of the barrel Chinese junk and/or T3 is already in trouble and liquidating inventory at cut rate prices. That sort of pricing is a huge red-flag one way or another IMO.

has anyone else noticed a significant change in papermakers attitude as of late? It seems to have vastly improved along with his grammar.
No. He is still on my ignore list. Do let me know when he can string together a couple coherent sentences in a row though.

lol.....for real. Gave me **** yesterday because I'm using SS amps. Get better amps he tells me. Fork over 1k to me, I tell him. It's holiday season bro, last thing I'm thinking about is amps for my Tahoe. Trust me, I'd like to but no can do.
