Is anyone here very knowledgeable....

i didnt read everything posted, however im guessing the 4 cats you speak of are more like 2 resonators and 2 cats. Those basically quiet down the exhaust and keep your emissions with in regulation. The o2 sensors read your exhaust gases to make sure that everything is functioning as it should. If you dont have emissions checks in your state you can cut out the resonators and cats and get o2 sensor simulators which basically just trick your cars computer into thinking everything is as it should be.

Basically I want to know the difference between my pre-cat and catalytic converter. I have 4 cats on my truck, and I'm just curious about the difference between the 2, if there is any.
it isnt 4 cats those are resonators. all new model vehicles have at least 1 sensor precat and 1 sensor post cat for every cat in the system. some vehicles have 2 sensors, some 3 some 4 and some even have 5 sensors !

What type of truck do you have? On my Tacoma there are 4 cats. 2 on the exhaust manifold, then O2 sensors, then another 2 cats at which point it squeezes from 2 pipes down to one, out through the muffler. The first 2 are responsible for most of the exhaust clean up, which is why there are O2 sensors after it. The last 2 are only used to clean up a little more w/ no sensors afterwards.
These last cats can be eliminated with no ill effects. However, if this is done, the truck will not pass CA emissions. Anywhere else though, it will pass
you have 2 cats dude look it up lol the rest are resonators only to help reduce noise level thats it. if it doesnt have a sensor it isnt a cat.

How catalytic converters work and o2 sensors.
you gonna want to google that, I don't feel like typing all that info.

Go long tube headers and custom fab the rest of the exhaust. **** cats and use O2 simulators to trick the truck
he may not be able to use O2 simulators, he's probably gonna have to get a SCT X3 to turn off the rear O2 sensors. Some Fords will run a simulator with no issue, others throw a code or cause the car to run really lean.

I've talked to a few F150 guys that say I can still use the stock sensors. I guess I'm just going to have to try and see.

**** it if i had photobucket lol it wont show the pic but i pulled up your exhaust system in shopkey ( dealer shop software basically ) and you have 2- 3 way cats with an attached resonator the resonator can be removed with no issues and replaced with straight or flex pipe.

which one is the resonator

Sct software is good to have anyways. You have the ability to to tune your truck to make the most power if you know what your doing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif But not everyone wants or has the need for it. Especially if your only doing a few small mods.
