Is a JL 500.1 Amp Sufficient?

Your sub is 500 watts rms. That amp puts out 500 watts rms x 1. And you are asking if it will work? Let me guess, you were the kid that instisted on trying to fit the square piece inside the circle hole aren't you?

No Im the kid that heard JL's can take extra power so I was wondering if there were better options for this sub other than the JL 500.1 numb nuts. But anyways, theres some local sellers around here putting them out for $300. Is this worth the buy or are there better options for that price?

i sold two 500/1s for 200 bucks, and i think you will be able to find one for about half of that. just look into it a little more. if you want a better amp that will run you the same as a 500/1, get a zapco reference 500.1. it has more balls than the JL and puts out more power at 2 ohms.
