Is a cap needed for my set up?

I'm running a stock Saturn sl1 alt (95 amps i think)

with a big 3 upgrade, 4guage wire

and a stock autozone battery

that shit is powering a hifonics zeus 1006 (500w*2 @ 2 ohms)

which is pushing two alpine type rs in a shity sealed enc.

I get pretty bad dimming when any bass hits and from the look of things my battery is slowly dieing (when i start the car the head light dim badly, with the system off)

I heard caps are relatively useless when it come to this type of problem but i'm not feeling installing a new alt to run two 10s, any suggestions?

yea the zeus is a a/b class, I got it as a pacage deal with the type r's of craigslist.

but from the mixed feedback i got from you guys I'll try to get an optima yellow or red and see if that does the trick, thx guys

put a battery and the back and get your front battery recharged and call it a day. Alt isnt a big problem unless your into comps. Read my sig, and all that is on a 100 amp alt, everything stock. No big 3.

I'd go with a Kinetik or powermaster battery in the front. Just upgrading the battery may resolve your issue because the higher quality audio batteries draw less power from your alt to charge and they provide better power. So you may only see a slight dim instead of a big dim because the better battery can keep you at a higher voltage and not dip in the 10s or 11s possibly like a reg battery would under heavy load.

After upgrading the battery and if you still get a slight dim, then a cap could help prevent the dim. Second battery in the trunk would be better, though.
