Im just starting to build my next system and am confident I can hit a 150db with 1 btl 15" and 2-3k, in a 2 dr blazer with an external aeroport. Is this enough to win comps? What class would I be in and what are ppl hitting at world finals in the 2k watts class? Thanks for any info I know this is a broad question and be able to be fully answered but any answers will help just trying to get a general idea thanks guys...

Local shows? Yeah.

But if you were to go to DB Drag World Finals and compete in Street B, expect the top 5 cars to be at or past a 160. The leader of Street B right now is at a 161. Even Street A is at a 159.5.

So ppl are hitting 160's with 3k? that would be my class??????
Keeping in mind in some orgs the MA audio 4K is a "50W" amp.

That's a very respectable score, but depending on the org, you may be competing with guys that are actually putting out 4 or 5 times the power you are.

usaci style yes its possible tuned high on a fart box. ive seen a few locals with blazers have a hard time doing 150 with single 18s and 6k though.
x2....IMO 150db is only realistic in a fartbox carefully tuned right to your car's peak resonation freq. if you're looking for a daily music then you're looking at like 145's, maybe a little higher. i havent had mine metered but to the ear its right on par with a previous 146d legal system ive owned, on heavy bass music. You should get a 3cubs @ 33hz box for your btl like mine, and have another fart box crafted specifically for comps.

Try using a term lab at the headrest. and see what you do... MECA Style is more competitive than DB Drag. Termlab is also 100x more accurate than the AC160 meter. MECA goes off you fuse rating and how much cone area you have to determine what class your in. so therefore your competeting against people that have similer equipment. so if you could do burps on a 30 amp fuse you could be in the lowest street class. and in which case most scores are around the 140-145 DB range. the occasional Monster setup that is doing 146, 147. Check out MECA And do some research. i would stear clear of db drag. i went to a DB comp one time and i have a single 15, and on around 2k watts. and i was in the same class as people with 3-4 subs and 4-5k watts. its not all that fair. MECA FTW! Heres the website. http://www.mecacaraudio.com
