Is 12w3v2 better than 12w6?

I was just at 6th avenue, and they had the 12w3v2 for $60 more than the 12w6. I was just wondering if there is a big difference in performance. I know many peopel say the JL are overpriced, but I do like the looks of them very much. Too many people imo have hte Type R's. I like to be a little different. Or at least uncommon. By the way, i have a 400RMS Mono amp. Its a Profile California 600SX.

The W3v2's are a new model and the W6v1's are about 11-12 years old. They are good subs. For 60 bucks I'd probably go with the W6's since they are cheaper. I doubt you would be looking at a big difference between the 2 subs.

i would go with the new v2's they handle a little bit more power and have better excursion. but both are good subs so which ever your pockets want to handle

The original W6 series are some of the best low power subs I have ever heard. In fact once I get a chance the XXX 12 is coming out the car in favor of 3 10W6s. The 10s will take less room and should give better output with the small amount of power I'm running.

Your statement is very general. Not everybody has a JL dealer around them. People who may live in smaller towns might not have access to a JL dealer.

I live in a rural town of 5000 people and am surrounded by nothing but farmland, and even I have access to a JL dealer.

Yes, some people do, but I would certainly not make the assumption that everybody does. Until 3 years ago, there wasn't a JL dealer around here, and this area has way more than 5000 people. It all depends on the area.
