Is 120 amp enough?

Im going to run a 3000 watt amp, 2800 max watt sub, and an extra battery in my hatch. My factory alternator is 90amps, and Ive never had problems with it being under powered, even in my old car (same year, different body but same drivetrain, etc) with a single 10, amp, Red Top and I abused my battery. A VR6 alternator, rated for 120 amps, fits perfect with no problems. I had one in my last car before I sold it, but I didnt have a system at the time. Would I be ok running the 120amp alt, or should I look into getting something stronger, say, 150 amps? I wont be running my system at full blast constantly, not even 50% of the time. What say you, Audio experts?

OP was at a car show all day today. Autotek 3000.1, which I found at a site I have bookmarked on my phone, and will post it when I charge it.

DC Level 4 sub.

why not just take and look at how many feet of whatever gauge wire you have and fuse to it's max current draw instead of the amp either you will end up with a larger then needed fuse and low resistance or you will need larger wire to fuse at what the amp needs, either way it's the right way to go about it.
