Is 1 Of My Subs Damaged ???

Hey gang,Yesterday i heard this really wierd noise like rattling metal coming out of my sub at high volume and when the lows hit:crap: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

still plays though and you can not hear it from inside the car. you can only hear it when you open the trunk and stand in front of the sub....

i recently had a similar problem after i installed my new port. i took the sub out of the box and checked it on teh multi meter. nothing appeared to be wrong so i put it back in and problem was gone. i think maybe the back of the cone was slapping the speaker wire.

What should i look for when i take it out ???

any specific signs i should look for to determine if it is damaged ??

my friends system in his camaro did the same problem... he was bangging it too much cuz we were cruising and outta no where the subs didnt hit any bass at all.. he was freaking out so we stoped and took a quick look

he took the wires off and put 'em back on, the subs were fine after that... sometimes its just a basic problem, look at your wiring it might come off cuz of the banging (not tight enough or screwed in) if your installings are right then i dont know what to say, sry

I took my subs back to the shop i got them from and i told the guy at the shop that i wanted a "SUB UPGRADE":naughty:

I only paid 120 bucks more and they gave me a brand new pair 12 inch L7 2006 model

Was it a good deal ???

Mine were the 04 model. How much difference there is between the 04 and the 06 model ????
