3) At the end of 30 days, the group buy will end. (April 30th, 2005)

Idle amperage on all alternators increase rapidly will a small increase

in RPM. Dominick recommends, "If you need all the power at idle, I

mine lasted slightly longer than two months before it died. also, that wasnt the first one, the first one i recieved was DOA.

i really think this should be discussed... what is the estimated life of these alternators?

Your cars battery is the major cause of alternator damage. Alternator is mint to maintain a batteries charge not to charge at battery. Make sure your batteries are fully charged prior to alternator installation. If your battery is uncharged due to lights left on, system playing with engine turned off or any time batteries are drained without the alternator on you should fully charge your battery before driving your vehicle. Don't use week or bad batteries. Do this and your alternator will be fine for years to come.

Wow it's really that delicate that it's that important that you keep your electrical system up? I mean, I somewhat understand it, but why can't the alternator charge the battery? Sometimes I forget and leave my light on overnight, or sometimes I listen to my radio too long when I am working on it or somewhere near it...

What else can you tell me about this?

When your battery is drained by your lights left on overnight or your stereo playing with the car off it is usually done over along period of time. When you start your vehicle with a drained battery the alternator will try to charge your battery instantly, drawing very high amperage for a long period of time. Alternator will get extremely hot trying to charge your battery and run the stereo at the same time. This is the case in with any alternator.
