Iraggi alt and Kinetik batts

I am who you think I am
Well, i just ran into fun news...

My plan was to use an iraggi alt with some kinetik batts but people online keep sayin that combination does not work together???

Why?

For one, I HAVE to have an iraggi alt because he is the only one who knows how to make an alt for my car.

2nd, i've already looked at Powermaster batts and their batts won't fit in my car.

They are just a little wider than the Kinetiks for the same aH rating and just wont fit.

So, anyone know if this is a myth or have some actual facts as to why people claim this combination doesnt work.

scion tC

I am running 2 AQ2200ds and a sundown 100.4

I have only 5.3" wide x 15" high x 36" long to fit batts.

I have planned on running 3 HC1400s back there.... but i want to make sure that people arent doin somethin wrong makin it seem like iraggi alts and kinetik batts wont work together.

i dont know?!?!

Everyone else who mentions this combo says that the batts start to die but nobody knows if it's iraggi alts or kinetik batts.

Supposedly nobody has problems with kinetiks but when an iraggi is put on there... problems arise.

Even Dominick Iraggi said not to purchase kinetik batts to be used for his alt( this is something new i just read) and to go with Powermaster since nobody has had problems with that?!?!

This makes no sense to me.

The only thing i can think of is Kinetik states to never charge their batts over 14.4v... i'm wonderin if that has something to do with it.

I don't see the problem might have something to do with the power master / kinetic rival. An Iraggi will put out the same voltage to either battery. I don't see the problem if you get the batts charge them first before you install. (24 hours min) Get what fits. If you drop voltage lower than 11v this will be hard on any brand of battery and alt combo. Where was this posted? Thanks hope this helps,

Irraggi alts put out ionized power whereas regular altos put out salinized power, and kinetics aren't capable of recieving ionized power...

lol a battery is a battery and in general it's mainly the same technology in each (wet cell, dry cell, cranking, deep cycle)... I would consider that a rumor until i heard credible sources telling me otherwise... and if you're still unsure send a question to some kinetic reps... I'm sure they could ease your mind a lot better than we can, but if your worried about bias, then... well I can't think of an unbiased credible source on the web... so I guess you'll have to make up your own mind about what to believe...

ok, i just wanted to make sure.

It seems like u guys say that it is crap.

I always do research on things before making purchases.

I will contact Kinetik about it soon because i am planning on buying batts within a few days.

is that a joke?

got off the phone with kinetik.

They know nothing of this "myth" about this combo but they did tell say that their batteries are not capable of accepting anything over 14.3v for long periods of time.

Long periods of time is 3-4hrs or long term abuse of over 14.3v.

What happens is the battery will swell and then start to permanently damage the cells.

so anyway complaining about their batt no longer holding a charge... regardless of what alt, it might be because you have been overcharging it.

So, now i gotta get in touch with Iraggi and see what his internally regulated alt he is buildin for me is gonna be set at and see if it can be set to where this doesnt happen.

I got a single run of 3/0 from front batt to rear.

I'll hook it up sometime within the next 2 weeks and see what voltage drop is from front or rear. That'll let me know if i can run Kinetik or not.

By this info though, i can see a lot of people potentially having problems with kinetik batts if they replaced their starting battery with one. Voltage drop there would be almost be non-existent.

Don't no all the details nor from who or what made that statement about it is bad. Why is it just kinetic they don't work with? Yea if a alt puts out power its gotta charge something. I know low voltage keeps batteries like kinetic, optima very under charged. If you do the combo just charge them over night every so often keep your eye on the batteries resting voltage if its setting below 12.5v charge it. I ran kinetic in the demo hummer for sema they told me they like to see 13.3/13.5v @ rest. Granted un-modded cars cannot keep it that high its just what they like to see. Hope this helps,

Your scion will limit your alternators voltage level itself. This is regulated by the car so I dont see you really having any issues with the over charge thing. Undercharge would be more of a concern honestly. I run 13kinetics @ 15+ volts no problem.
