I just got a new iPOD video, along with all of the needed cords to connect it to my Alpine CDA-9825 receiver. Heres what i have. iPOD to RCA's, RCA's to AI-net, AI-net to AI-net port on back of 9825, Ai-net/normal switch switched to AI-net divice. What do i need to do on the HU to get it to play? When i hit SOURCE button, i dont get the "changer" option, only "tuner", "disk", and "AUX". What do i need to do?

I believe it should be on the AUX setting?

when i play it on AUX, i only get the highs form the song. no lows or mids at all. and it is at a constant volume, i cant change it at all not on the iPOD or the HU.

get the kca 420 device. Best $100 I've spent since... well, the $400 I spent for my ipod. It's a godsend.

kca > any other way of getting your ipod to play on your alpine HU.

i've heard too many bad things about the kca 420, so im not going to get that. ok i hooked the iPOD up from the head phone jack instead of the dock (line out)and it plays, but just from the speakers, not the subs, and the only way to controlt he volume is on the iPOD. When i hook it up from the dock, it plays really loud, regardless of HU or iPOD volume setting, and it just plays the highs. What is wrong with this thing. In the manuel, it says to select "CHANGER", how do i get that option. I flipped the switch, but nothing.

i guess what i'm trying to do is get the iPOD to work as a cd changer, to where all the iPOD does is send the signal and the HU controlls the volume and EQ settings and allows my subs mids and highs to work.

plug that into the DIN connector on the back of the HU, then get some of these

all done. if that does not work - then hold down the setup button to the right center of the knob [iirc] and scroll over to the aux input feature and make sure its on.

that is the easiest way to get the alpine to work with the ipod - i have two friends who use it and it works great for them [both with aftermarket amps for all 4 speakers]

your RCA's are not communicating any information other than sound to the head unit. You cannot control the volume, EQ settings or anything from your head unit if you want to use the headphone jack to ai net cheapy $10 adapter.

Again, your problem is that you dont' have the kca 420i adapter. What you want to do can only be done with this adapter, period. I own one, i've had no issues, and I get all the things you want. But if you insist on "hearing too many bad things about the kca 420i" and not trying it yourself, and insist on trying to go the $10 route and wanting it to do more than it ever will, then suit yourself.

do yourself a favor and when people with product experience speak, listen.

Problem is the ipod itself, its just one big band wagon, The boner will eventually soften
5 years going strong and still the highest rated, most supported, most universally-used mp3 player in the world with almost a complete monopoly on the market.

Sure, the problem is the ipod itself //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

I invite you to listen to my personal system and decide if my iPod sucks ***.
