iPod?

i too use an ipod for my car system. much better than a cd changer or mp3 cd. i'm currently using the belkin car connection kit. it works really well with the aux adapter for my hu. i really hope the ipod interface alpine is soon to release will be compatible with the 9815. anyways if you really want to read up on info about connecting your ipod to your car, head over to http://www.ipodlounge.com. they have section on their forum dedicated to car installs.
where exactly is the car install forum part at?!?! i wish i could find a way to use the dock connector or something to utilize the digital in on my HU. peace

Currently, i have a 20GB ipod hooked up to my eclipse8053. I love having 2,500 in my truck...plus plenty of room left over. Right now, i use the analog in...but i really wish there was a way i could utilize digital in on this HU. oh well, sound good...not perfect...but **** good. peace
Hey I just got my ipod and i'm in basically the same situation as you. I have the 8443, but I really want to connect my ipod to my system what is the best way to go about this? Should I just buy the belkin connector kit or is there a better way to go? Also where is the best place to buy this stuff? thanks

All i did was buy a mini plug... male to male. Plug it into your ipod, and then plug it into the analog in on the rear of your HU (also a mini plug). Then on the HU, press and hold cd button (top left...) and it will go to the aux in screen, button 1 and 4 toggle between analog and digital in. peace

hold any type of file.
Well yes it can HOLD any type of file but the files it can play are limited... a big reason I stayed away from it, that and the battery and the look, and that and the price, but lets not get into a which MP3 player is better arguement //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

yes, i said hold. it is pretty much a portable hard drive that has the benifit of being able to play music.

I am glad to see this topic..Whats the Deal with a Pioneer 9400, can and and How do I be down wih the I Pod thang!
you mean how do you incorporate it with your system. since i dont know of any product that interfaces with the iPod, then i would suggest that you connect it to you aux input (i believe your deck has one) with a mini jack to rca cable

A better option for $40 is the belkin charger/aux input. It utilizes the firewire port on the bottom of the ipod instead of the 1/8 mini jack on the top. Basically for $40 you get a more powerful amp than is currently in the ipod which emits a much cleaner sound at higher volumes. If your aux input is sensitive enough, you may be able to get away with the mini jack on top with no audible difference between the two.
