iPod Pioneer Question - Do they work well with all ipods w/ dock connector?

I currently have a 4gb nano, sitting in my glovebox connected to my DEH-P880PRS

I bought the nano months ago for working out, but now that i have it connected it my car, thats really as far as it goes.

That being said, i can easly sell the nano (perfect condition) before the higher capacity nano's come out this fall. I've been thinking about picking up a used 40-60gb model, since its sitting in my glovebox all day, i dont care about the size and the battery life...

Question though, does anyone have experience using the Pioner iPod adapter with an older ipod? My main concerns would simply be speed as the sound quality out of the dock connector shouldn't vary.

IIRC it only works with 3rd gen Ipod's and up...it should say it in the manual for the iPod interface...

Yea, those are the only ones with the Dock Connector i think.
