Ipod Help

I just got my ipod and everything hooked up to my hu.....the only thing is, is its not loud.....not cd quality......am i doing anything wrong? i have three sets of rcas in the back of my deck and i plugged it into the something in.........the other two sets are for front and rear......i have it turned up on the ipod jsut does not seem that loud....anyone have any suggestions.
