Ipod Help Please!!!

Ok my gf/s mom bought a ipod shuffle thing. Off of someone she worked with. It had a few songs on it. I just installed the software on my comp the itunes and went to put music on it. On itunes it shows music but when I try to listen on ipod I hear nothing. Any ideas what is wrong or what I am doing wrong. I have never owned one or used one.

Did you install the Ipod Shuffle drivers before plugging it into the USB port?

If the drivers are not installed first, the PC wont see the Ipod.

Normaly it takes a few moments (a minute or two) for the Ipod to "synch up". Did you plug it in and let it do its thing? You should see it pop up in the left hand menu where the library, playlists etc. are.

Got it workn thanks for the help guys, and zack it only took about 5 min reading on that site to fix the problem just reinstalled everything updated it and then did a restore on the ipod and that fixed the problem.
