About to buy my JVC AVX800 tomorrow morning I think. I've looked around, and I've heard a few things and the guys in the Car Audio dept. (I work at CCity) said it would be better than going with the Jensen 9312 (I've read here that sucks too!)
If you have a better suggestion on an in-dash dvd (Don't need navi) available at CCity let me know, this just seemed like the best for the price since I don't want to spend any more than 6-700.
Anyways, here's what I'm trying to do:
Put videos on my Ipod.
Use the touch-screen to select videos and have them play. (NOT JUST SONGS, VIDOES!)
I've seen the Ipod adapter and it says only songs work through it, so I'm trying to find what I can do regarding videos. I've heard something about J-Link or RCA but I just need to confirm what I need.
I do need both videos and music, so I'm hoping you can do both on the same cord, or that it is at least possible. Also, if there is a way to do it without Ipod adapter, does that cable power your Ipod also, thats very important to me.
If that doesn't work, I've also read about doing an external hard-drive via USB on the player, and that sounded decent. But I was curious how that looked on the player's interface. I did read that it can only do one or the other, movies or music, but I already have the Ipod so no use letting it go to waste anyway. Does the Harddrive have a list of movies on the Ipod? does it have a specific interface? Just need to know how you view and select the movies from the hard-drive.
Also, I'm buying this tom. morning and this could be a deciding factor so please if you can let me know quickly! Procrastination bit me in the butt this time so I'm hard-pressed for time.
