i hate verizon with a passion. i tried it for a few years. thats why i'm using cingular now.

Cingular has started launching 3G HSDPA and right now it is faster than EVDO in some areas. But case in point this is a thread about the iphone and the iphone doesn't even support that technology. On top of that I have the SERO package and I pay less than $40 a month total. You'll be lucky to get a data plan on cingular for that cheap.

i would not say its crap at all. but i wouldn't say its great either. it does everything decently but it really doesn't excel at anything. for example listening to mp3's on it... a joke, the adapter is impossible to find and the sound quality is horrible. the camera can't take photos in low light situation and of course the images are always grainy. using applications? half of them dont work as they should and the rest take forever to load....
okay, i guess you're right. oh well, its a fun little phone

indeed. when they were first out they'd drain the battery in 4 hours assuming you were in the 3g network. Now its fixed and they sent me an extended battery fo free.

I get like maybe 2hrs talk time on the small battery.

on the edge network i've always gotten plenty of time on the regular batt. it was just being on 3g all the time that ***** me.
