I definately won't be spending $500 on another ipod that only holds 4gigs of music. The only time I use my ipod anyway is in my car, and it never comes out unless I'm updating music on it.

I could, however, see this catching on in cities like NY where there is a lot of walking/subway'ing (I just made up a word) and little driving. I guess this kills 2 birds with one stone?...other than that, I can't see the point whatsoever other than just wanting to be cool.

i would not say its crap at all. but i wouldn't say its great either. it does everything decently but it really doesn't excel at anything. for example listening to mp3's on it... a joke, the adapter is impossible to find and the sound quality is horrible. the camera can't take photos in low light situation and of course the images are always grainy. using applications? half of them dont work as they should and the rest take forever to load....

okay, i guess you're right. oh well, its a fun little phone

Why do people act like they don't want the iPhone to even be released?

Why do people expect it to be anything other than a modern cellphone with modern conveniences for the apple market?

Apple never claims it can do anything new it just does everything differently within the phones gui....
