iphone or ipod touch

Hey i was thinking about picking up one of these for christmas (the 8gb iphone or 16gig ipod touch).

I'd really like something that does it all, but then again the extra 8gigs for no phone capability sounds interesting.

Does anyone have one of these? what are your experiences with them?

id go with the ipod touch...that way if you already have a phone you dont have to switch carriers/break contracts and shit, plus pay for the base 100$ plan, and extra for the internet on the iPhone, whereas its free on the iPod (I believe, correct me if im wrong)

the ipod touch can do everything the iphone can do except for the phone features and camera.

all of the apps on the iphone work on the touch.

do u need a phone?

i have the iphone and its cool i just figured out how to hack it and custiize everything but i guess it depends if you need a phone or not

although i am an apple fan pretty much. i would hold off on both. wait until they come out with atleast a 30gb model, which should be within the year(not 07 year but year from release date of both).

as far as the iPhone, no 3g makes it real weak in this day and age.

but if i HAVE to choose, id get the iPod touch, only because its not as long as the iphone and it has more storage capacity
