ok, so i was debating on buying myself one for christmas, but im being told i have to purchase them at an Apple store, and that in order to get it i have to get a 2 year contract with at&t. but i already am with at&t and cant get another 2 year contract right now...ive called both at&t and apple and have just gotten the run around..

at&t-"well we dont sell the iphone here you need to call the apple store at northpark and talk to them."

Apple store-"well we actually dont do the service here, you have to contact at&t for that, and without the 2 year contract the phone is basically a paperweight."

so wtf is up with this shit, all i want is to buy a g**** iPhone.........

Then your balls are in a vice...cause you have to get the 2-year contract. Why can't you just renew your contract and get the **** phone? I've done that numerous times before...

buy it used and upgrade to the required service WITHOUT a new contract.

well im also being told that you HAVE to buy a data plan to go along with a normal one, and i have no use for that.

i just want unlimited texts and a few hundred minutes, but to have that ive got to spend ~100 bux a month.

so **** at&t and the iPhone.

actualy it will be about 80 a month...the cheapest plan they have is 59.99, and i need unlimited texting so thats an extra 20.....

wrong. there are specific phone plans for the iphone, and you have to have one of them. iirc they start at about $80/month, they include internet and data, and text messages etc are extra.

Get a ATT 8525 or ATT Tilt. Much better phones not to mention 3G speed and Windows mobile.

i was looking at the tilt, but i dunno.

i got to mess around with an ipod touch the other day and i really like them, and wish i still had my ipod....so why not get a phone that IS an ipod.......thats the way im seeing this...

If you're dead set on having the ipod interface with a phone, I would suggest waiting for the new gen iPhone whenever it comes out. I'm sure the 2nd gen will be 3G enabled and correct some of the flaws the current gen has.
