Iphone 5 and Playlist Control

OK so by now we all know about the 30-pin to "lightning" adapter.

From what I understand, the new lightning connector does not support ipod controls - AT ALL- and just gives you audio out (nothing more than the headphone jack does)...so all of the folks with Kenwood head units (or ANY car stereo that provides playlist control) who have been able to control / navigate playlists via our head unit touchscreen, (not to mention, provides charging of the phone!) are now completely out of luck.

It looks like all you get from Lightning port is audio, you are going to be forced to navigate the playlist using the **** phone.

What is the solution going to be? A third-party "black box" to connect between the iphone5, and our head units?

its more money for Apple its why they use their own designed charger port and so forth.. for all the nut huggers to spend massive amounts of money on their crap...

You cant control android thru a headunit either... Only bluetooth for both phones, and only iphone thru USB

eh... had an Iphone for like 10mins... went to android and have not looked back.. I prefer being able to root and change roms at will and on the fly and not be stuck having to use itunes for all the junk

flashing roms is risky and I need my phone for buisness related stuff so I cant afford to be possibly missing calls.. my phone is a tank and does exactly what I need it to do and more. Its a solid device.

And I work in IT/Computer software. I know the differences (I have a galaxy S2 and I4s) i prefer my 4s hands down

Use your i-devices until they crap out, then go to android.

What kills me is the cost for larger memory... it would be must cheaper to use SD cards, but apple wants you to spend and extra 200$ for larger hard drives.

I use my phone for business also.. I have rooted and flashed every single android phone I have owned with out any single issues.. use to flash phones/tablets for people.. I have the galaxy s2, But when I can flash a rom or update my rom in less than 5mins on the fly without a computer I prefer that.. on weekdays I deal with over 100 calls a day, the only time I miss a call or email on my phone is due to network issues with ATT.. everyone I know that has had an Iphone has switch to androids.. Not knocking Iphones.. just not what I prefer or anyone else I know in person really..

Flash memory is far superior to SD

I feel the same way. I had an Android for about 10min... went to iPhone and never looked back.
Why is it that an Apple tread can't be made asking a question without all the Droid nut huggers jumping on to start bashing. It's almost like someone started a thread about Audiopipe or something...........SMH.

I don't believe i bashed Apple.. I actually have nothing against apple, its just not what I want or need.. I just prefered complete control over my phone is all. It took me 10mins to figure that out after I bought a used 3G then gave it to my brother. I also prefer the blackberry's over Apple. I think the only negative thing i said about apple was their use in their own charger/connector instead of using the standard micro usb cable.. which makes people have to spend extra money on that
