iPhone 3G/iPhone 2.0 Update

I thought the old one did have Wifi?? Maybe it was just the iPod touch.
Also, the 3G has GPS now too. A big improvement in my eyes, and I am now kicking myself for renewing my contract too early (I didn't know the new one was in the pipelines yet).

Thats what i thought too..that only the ipod touch came with wifi. But o well, it'll be cheaper for me if the old iphones have wifi. Does anyone know if the 3g iphone can do mms now?

do yall worry about it not having insurance??

Apple Care. Besides, phone insurance sucks. $5 a month for over a year, and the one time I needed to use it, the want to charge me a $50 deductible and send me a refurb.

Original has google maps, not gps AFAIK. They made it sound like a new thing during the keynote speech for the 3g

Apple Care. Besides, phone insurance sucks. $5 a month for over a year, and the one time I needed to use it, the want to charge me a $50 deductible and send me a refurb.

I don't usually buy insurance for my phones cause i always sell them and buy new ones before anything happens to them but if i do i buy 3rd party insurance since there are no deductibles

I would just buy the Apple Care plan. Should cover anything a normal insurance plan covers and more. Or you might be able to see if your homeowners/renters insurance company has a "personal possessions" policy.

Well if you're talking about google map then i mean anyphone that can get on the internet have gps but some phones can't. If gps is already built in, then not a lot of phones have it.

I guess but i'm a phone adict so i change phones too often. So i wouldn't need insurance anyways.

The old one only had internet access, and had Google Maps os a quick app. The new one actually has GPS.

apple care? i was talking to the guy at the at&t store and he said no1 offers insurance for it....only thing is warranty if something goes wrong wit da phone itself

No, it doesn't. You get a list of directions and you have to keep track of them and read them while driving. GPS gives turn by turn directions as you go. Maps IS a nice feature, but I would rather have Maps w/GPS, which is what the new one has

ahh i see...do you know if that covers like if it gets dropped and broken screen...drop in water etc etc ???
