Inverting Subs

Just wondering what the diferrence is between an inverted sub and one that isnt inverted....i see alotta people on here post pics with heir subs inverted....why do they do it??...what kind of differences does it make in performance?

It sounds no different, it peforms no different

Its purely for looks.

do it if you have a nice big magnet...shows off quite well...if there puny dont do it...everyone will look down on you

Mechanical noise is generally more apparent ... Mostly for looks ... Slightly less cone area, so you'll have a slight (inaudible) drop in SPL ...

true(i can hear it in my sub), or if you dont want the cone gashed in.

In my case, the sub would have so little cone area thats not used it wouldnt make a difference.

flat cone for the win !
