Internet Car Sales Scams

Anyone heard of any internet car sales scams? I recently found an awesome deal on a Toyota Supra- too good to be true (red flag). I contacted the seller and he stated he was selling it because it was his brother's. His brother recently died in a motorcycle accident, and this dude wants to unload the Supra so he can go into the army. Pretty strange- yet somewhat believeable story. What really gets me is the guy wants to use a 3rd party service where I transfer money- they hold it till I get the car. BUT- he won't let me come pick up the car- he will ship it- but I cannot pick it up. I figure its a scam- but if it isn't its a **** weird deal. lol

What other scams have y'all read about or experienced? And do you think this is a scam?
