Found this while browsing some resources and thought it was pretty interesting. Makes a lot of sense and hopefully some of the members that are 'anti-cap' will actually be able to understand why.

they actually do work, and they helped me save a half a volt on my electrical, and stopped the dimming. I don't want them, but until i get the money to buy a new alt and battery they are worth it.

Capacitors are good at maintaining voltages at a relatively constant amperage load.

Car audio amplifiers can easily spike from a relatively low 30a draw to well over 100a in an instant. I'd like to see the size of a capacitor needed to EFFICIENTLY react to that.
