--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just read a review on eopinions.com about the JL Audio 13W7 that has made me think twice about purchasing the sub.

Here's the link for the review, would like opinions after reading:

I am definitely looking more for sound quality, than just a loud & pounding subwoofer.

Sounds like this guy knows his stuff, what do you guys think?

Dont believe everything that guys says. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

"the Van Gogh is absolutely the most superb sound-quality oriented, yet still punchy AND musical sounding amp line I've seen in a LONG, LONG time."

That right there kills any possible credibility he may have had. I don't even need to finish reading the "review" to know the gentleman is a fool.

I couldn't resist and read a few more lines down...

"Many people don't understand Qvas, Vas etc"

Again, proving his idiocy. Qvas is not a specification. There is Qts, Qes and Qms (and Qtc once loaded into an enclosure)...but no Qvas.

I say I would have to agree with the second guy ( the electrical engineer ). It sounds like the reviewer of the W7 must have just been bent over by JL or something, because he was definatly making most of his statements out of anger and he did'nt have much to back up what he was saying.

Just one mans opinion. I don't here too many bad reviews on the W7. Oh well.

On a side note...after reading the comments, I don't know who that franklin guy is...but I like him! All of his statements (that I read) are pretty much right on the money.

Since I'm a newbie to car audio, I had to post this review on here because I knew it would generate opinions. I have heard nothing but good things about the W7 series, and when I read that review I was wondering if this could be true or not. Appreciate all of the feedback because that's what I needed.

So pretty much this guy is full of s%@t?

Yup, pretty much.

Now....does everybody have to love the W7? Ofcourse not. But this particular review should hold absolutely zero value for you. The guy is obviously severely misinformed, and thinks he knows more than he actually does.

"In addition to the high cost, the recomended enclosure size it behemoth! JL's optimal recomendation is 1 7/8 cubic feet!! WOW- that is a MASSIVE box- and it will easliy take up the majority of the trunk in any small or mid sized sedan- alot of space in a large sedan AND it will diminish volume quickly in any SUV,"

ROFL, a box just under 2cf. is not massive.

Opinions are opinions. The LAST thing I'd use to decide on a piece of equiptment is some opinion on epinions.Or any site of the like.
