Interesting comparison

(3) 4" aeros have 37.70 in^2 of port

(2) 6" aeros have 56.55 in^2 of port

Both have the same port velocity. I find this interesting.

(4) 4" aeros have 50.27 in^2 of port

(3) 6" aeros have 84.22 in^2 of port

The 4" aeros have just a slightly higher port velocity than the 6" aeros, even with the huge difference in port area. I also find this interesting.

Just something to think about.

what would u use if u wanted to build a box for a 15 tune low. lets say a sub that can take 1000rms . the box i was thinking would b 3.5 cubic feet tune to like 30hz. im not sure of what areo would work out well. a single 6 inch or 2 4 inch ports.

I'd do 4 inch ports, but it's going to bed difficult because in you buy a regular aero, you'd have to buy extra parts and lengthen it.
i wana build a box for a 15inch sub tune on the lower side tbh i want like 28hz but i dont think i wana really go that low. i dont wana use a single slot port nor would i wana do 2 slot ports lol. i mean if i had to i would do one large slot part but i wana try somthing like a areo port. i see they sell the hole kit i dont wana get in to sonos cuz the fact im not sure how to get the port to stay flush and hold in there tight. i thought a areo kit would b best , how do u go about geting the tuning u need and not spending like 50.00 in areos for a simple 15inch box build? i mean i guess i could get some pvc and cut it to what i want but then i would have to come up with a way to hold the port in place. i could screw it in but tbh i think it would come out choppy and alot of glue would b used and it would look like hell.

What sub is it?

tbh im not sure yet i want a sub that can take at least 800rms at 1 ohm it will come down to the money i have. i know i want low tunning and like 3.5 cubic feet. if i go with a monster of a 15 i would not have the power so i would need to have a bigger box and i dont wana b over 4 cubic feet net to b honest. im trying to build a box that would meet that but as far as subs im not sure. mayb a dc lvl 4, mayb one of those lanzer subs.

You could try a SSD or AQ sdc2.5 15".

hhahhahahahah i had both of those subs befor along with a bs jbl 15 i got on the cheap. i wana see how my 12s work out if i like them i will keep them then go with a budget 15 and b some where around 600rms at 2 ohms or so and just watch my gains. im not looking to go with a monster of a sub at this time. im sure if i get rid of my 12's then i would look in to geting a better 15 and go from there. when it comes to areo's will a basic areo kit get the job done or would i b better off with a few feet of pvc and just make some thing to hold it in place? im just unsure of how to get the port flush with the wood.

what car is this going in, i just got done designing a 15 box for a tiburon that has a cut out for the 2 deka 9a31s to fit in the trunk, it ends up at 4 cubes tuned to 28hz with two of the 4" areos from pe at full length.

just a thought if you have the extra .5 cube to play with,
