installing head unit in 1996 nissan maxima (non-bose)

I need to change the stock head unit on my 1996 Nissan Maxima (non-bose standard radio+tape). Probably going to opt for the Pioneer DEH-P7700MP which I will order online.

I have basic electrical knowledge - how hard is installation if I do it myself and what would I need? Otherwise, if its difficult or complicated, what is the approximate price I should expect to pay at a car audio shop?

Do my current (old) stock speakers have any special resistances or anything else that I should be aware of? I am unaware of the watts or ohms for them.

Thanks in advance.

A non-Bose Maxima is one of the simplest. The only part you'll need is a wire harness; no need for a kit in that car. The new head unit will be compatible with your old speakers.
