Installed a double din, likes to not turn on untill i unplug it sometimes.

so i installed a double din cd/dvd player in my 98 ford explorer xlt and now after i turn the vehicle off and leave it sit for awhile i have to pull it out and unplug it just to get it to turn on and function normally again. any ideas?
