Installation earns me a trip to the hospital

Nair ain't got chit on polyester resin //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I'm pretty sure I don't want to know about your Nair experience...

Back in HS I was installing an amp inder the seat of my car, so Ihad the driver's seat out and was sitting on a little cooler while I was working in the car. Foot slipper, cooler tipped and I ended up with my finger sandwiched between the cooler with most of my body weight on it and the edge of an extruded heatsink. Punched a nice ragged hole clean through the fingernail. Hurt and bled like a biotch.

Oh it's not that bad . Was working on a sub enclosure , wasn't paying close attention. And rubbed my leg up against wet poly resin . Didn't even realize it until it started warming up from the curing. By that time it was too late. Had one half of my calf hairless for about two weeks . //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Had an incident involving my cat a while back //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Was working on a different enclosure, gad the fleece good and saturated with resin. Went inside to get a beer, cam back out and heard this god awful sound . Looked in the garage, and didn't see anything. Walked around the garage for a good 5 minutes trying to figure out where the sound was coming from. Finally gave up and walked back into the garage to see if the glass was curing. And there was the cat. He brushed up against it, and fur got matted up with resin. And the cat was stuck to the side of the enclosure. Got several scratches and a few scrapes from the cat while I cut him loose from the enclosure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I think I was more pissed that I had to buy a new blade than I was a dodging a bullet. One of my guys caught a shard of metal square in the eye last week. I was nipping some metal off a speaker to get it to mount properly and the shard went flying across the bay and caught him dead center of his right eye. 99.99% of it came out but it left a speck of metal stuck in his eye and contact lens (that of course he rubbed at), so into the emergency he goes an they take a nice long needle to his eye and poke it on in and pry out the metal shard. (As everyone winces in pain). No damage done thankfully but it also shows that even 15 feet away, someone can get injured with ease.

The best ever! LOL!

I suppose the worst thing that ever happened to me install wise was trying to switch amps when it was 10 degrees below zero... I couldn't QUITE get the 4awg pushed into the spade terminal, and the wind picked up. I fought with it (no gloves, just jeans and an ill fitting coat...) for at least a half an hour. Finally, my head, my hands up to my elbows, my legs and my back were all windburned and numb but began to literally hurt, there was a stiff 30 mph wind going. I went in the house because of the pain and nearly passed out, my body temp was like 80 degrees several minutes later of trying to get warm, it took like 4 hours sitting in the bathtub in hot water, draining and filling it back up to get back to normal.

I always gotta work on my system when the weather is bad //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
