Install amp and sub in Mazda 6

I an trying to install a amp and sub in for a friend to the factory head unit I have the loc converter. Just wondering where I hook up the loc do I do it behind the head unit or at the speakers and do I do it to the front or rear speakers. Also no sure if it has the Bose system or not if that matters.
