Insignia VS Vizio

My vizio has an lg panel...
LG makes the LCD screens for vizio, panasanic also makes parts of vizio tvs, but a different grade from their own products.

Its unfortunate that you and the rest of this thread are that uninformed. LG, Samsung, and Sony make the top 3 TVs on the market right now. They also had the top 3 on the market a year or 2 ago. Vizio isnt even close in quality or customer service as any of those 3 major companies.
x2. and not even a year ago sony had the number one HD tv on the market (atleast according to the home audio/video tech).

Mitsubishi hasnt made a decent TV in years.
u should look into them..u will be surprised....their dlps are the best bang for the buck if ur wanting to step into a bigger screen without paying plasma or lcd pricing..granted they a bulb driven..the cost on bulbs wit be down to $150 when they come out...average life on them is a 1yr and a half to 2 yrs....u could buy a 65" screen and 3 bulbs and be cheaper than any plasma or lcd close to that size..and there new unisen lcds look great..and sound decent

Sony actually owns visio IIRC, or did at first. Vizios are basically made from leftovers from other tv companys. And best buys insignia brand is mfd in the same buildhouse/same parts as LG. I would say whatever TV you get, get it from bestbuy when its on sale, and get the black tie protection program, 4 year one. Runs about 100$ on smaller tvs but well worth it. I seen broken tvs come in all the time when i worked there, no questions asked replacement most of the time. If you have the cash id go with a samsung.

Why would I pay that much for outdated DLP? I wouldnt. Thats just stupid to pay over priced for outdated technology. You open that TV up to replace the bulb there goes your warranty. Get it in to get the bulb replaced and your talking more than $150. Its a waste of time and Mitsubishi only makes nice home appliances and cars. TVs is not their hot spot.

best picture i ever saw on a plasma or lcd..is a pioneer plasma tv..best tv ever made in my opinion..they were just too expensive to compete against everyone else...i think they were worth every penny

best thing you can do is look out for deals

i researched a tv for the apt, we wanted a 1080p tv with good picture and deep blacks, we finally went with a panasonic S1 plasma, got it free shipping and free panny bluray player for like 800$ total

you can find their 720p 42" sets for ~$500 or so, which is an awesome deal

but just keep on the lookout for stuff, look on slickdeals and other places for low prices

when u will have to replace the bulb..the tv will already be past its warranty...anyone can replace the bulb..just a few screws..u actually buy the cartridge now...and well for sum it would be a great deal..hell a 60" tv for $1299?? who can beat that? but i dont like mitsubishi for their dlps...just saying they r a good solution to a bigger screen for a good price..i like their unisen lcds..good quality picture...but everyone has their own opinion...i do agree wit u abt their home appliances and car..great stuff:D

srry to the op for gettin off topic...plasma will be cheaper than lcd and will probably be more cost efficient in my opinion...most people just say lcd becuz bestbuy and circuit city drove it down people's throats becuz it was the "new" thing...720p sets can be found for cheap...if its below a 40" stick wit 720p...anything below a 40" screen u wont be able to tell the diff b/w a 1080p and a 720p...look into samsung or panasonic..u wont regret it

But Panasonic shits on all of them.

Samsung makes the best lcd tv's out right now, a couple years ago it was Sony and Pioneer Kuro Elites were one of the best tv's ever made. I would just look for a nice Sammy on sale or open box.
