input on dampener

My choice of dampener is going to be between secondskin B stock luxury liner pro (have to do more research on the "b stock") and SDS MLV. Im going with dynamat for deadener.

I'd like to know from people who have used either SS or SDS how they like it, and especially from people who have used both. I'm more getting it for quieting the car than the audio benefits. Price matters, if there is a significant difference, but if it is minor I don't want to pay extra. Not really looking to start the argument of what's better, but what's your experience and satisfaction with them. Im looking to place the order before the end of the week, so please share.

That isn't an apples-to-applies comparison. Luxury Liner Pro has closed cell foam bonded to the vinyl, while the SDS MLV is just the vinyl barrier. You also need the SDS closed cell foam, the IH-66 vinyl cement, and the velcro strips to attach it the two layers to your vehicle. I haven't used Luxury Liner Pro but I have used a lot of SDS products. The SDS way doesn't require materials to be glued to your panels, so it's easily removable. Obviously it will require more time to install due to the extra steps required.

Skipping the foam layer is not an option. It serves the purpose of decoupling the vinyl from the vehicle, otherwise it will just transfer vibrations and noise.

I'm going to go with second skin because the guy that does SDS hasn't gotten back to me...over a week!

1/ Anyway, I do like the thought of mounting the thing with velcro, is that not possible with second skin? I thought this velcro that everyone uses around here is some space age stuff that's strong and works on everything.

2/ If I have to go with the glue, can I o it in sections like the velcro, or o I have to do the whole thing?

3/ I'll be putting it over dynamat, will the weight of this pull the dynamat up?

4/ Going under the rear seat do I really need the version with the foam?

Thanks

That surprising he hasn't emailed you back yet. He must be busy. If you are looking for customer service and a complete step by step process of how much you need, where to put it, and how to put it on, sds is the place to go. He sent me a huge email giving me step by step directions on what to do and I didn't even buy his stuff. Mainly because I couldn't afford it. But if I could, I would go sds.
