Input needed on my system design for a GTR

I've been lurking on the forums for a while trying to educate myself on the latest in the car audio world. I used to be pretty knowledgeable about this stuff a few years ago, but have been away from the scene for a while and no longer have a real good grip on what's good out there, so I wanted to ask for input on what would be a good setup for my car. Some details about my goals, budget, and car:

Goal: my biggest thing is SQL. I like bass, but I don't need to be heard a half mile away. I like tight and accurate bass, clear and melodic mids and highs, and I don't like tweets that are too bright.

Car: 2009 Nissan GTR (has 2 free air 9" subs in the factory system).

Budget: I would like to spend between $1500 and $2000 for the equipment.

System requirements:

-3 way components up front (6.5"woofers, 3.xx" mids)

-decent 6.5" coaxials in the back for fill. Could use the factory amp to run them.

-signal processor (I want to keep the factory head unit)

-either 2 8" or 9" subs in the factory free air location or one 12" sub in custom fiberglass box (1.25 cu.ft for the location I want) in the trunk.

-one multi channel amp running everything.

other notes:

-I want to use parts that are on the lighter side because I don't want to add too much weight to the car and hinder it's performance (hence the desire to use only 1 amp).

-Some other GTR owners have been running 2 Morel 9" SW subs in the factory free air mounting location, and others have done a single 12 in a custom fiberglass box (about 1.25 cu ft) in the trunk.

-I've heard good things about the hertz and morel components, along with audison or jl HD amps.

-Heard good things about Morel and TC sounds subs. So many brands and opinions with subs though.....

I would appreciate any input you guys can give me.

Thanks a lot!

Nissan GTR? Instead of a new stereo I'd spend money on a custom titanium catback exhaust to open up the sound of that twin turbo V6 or upgrade the stock transmission to ones that can withstand the 4k rpm launch control.

If you really want to have a fancier stereo then just replace the stock speakers with whichever brand you like, installing a sub in the trunk is going to mess up that car's weight distribution.

I already have an aftermarket exhaust and midpipe, intake, cobb accessport, and a custom tune that puts down 535 awhp and 562 awtq, so I'm pretty happy with the performance aspect already. The sub in the back will be designed to be removable for track days, so the overall weight gain from the stereo equipment should only be about 20 lbs, and not enough to significantly alter the weight distribution of the car. It's my daily driver so I want to be able to enjoy music in my ride as well as the performance. The stock Bose system pretty much *****.

Anybody have any suggestions?
