Overall, what do you guys perfer to use. Class AB 2 channel(bridged) or Class D Mono. The Class AB amps generate more heat and are less effecient, but if you want to get the best performance(SQ and SPL) out of the sub what would you guys use?
i run a/b and like it alot. man do they pull alot of power though.Overall, what do you guys perfer to use. Class AB 2 channel(bridged) or Class D Mono. yep. my precision power is 1400 x 1 @ 4 ohms or 700 x 2 @2 ohms.my alpine MRV-1507 (beast) is an A/B amp. I love it. Great sq, and nearly 1000w RMS @ 4 ohms... not many can do that. I love A/B amps
Not looking at current draw, And non SPL applications. In order to get the best possible performance out of a sub... Class AB or D?I feel A/B will be dead for sub amps in the near future. In a sub application you just don't need a full-range signal and class D fits the bill quite nicely.
That being said.... I like A/B sub amps, just a personal preference as I do not need huge amps in my setups.

i used to run a viper d1200.1, 1200 x 1 @ 1 ohm. it was good. changed to the ppi with all the same equipment every where else. i like the ppi better. downside is that i now need a h.o. alternator.OK, Regardless of Space, Power(current draw), Heat generation. Best dynamics, performance, Freq resp... AB or D?
Doesn't matter.OK, Regardless of Space, Power(current draw), Heat generation. Best dynamics, performance, Freq resp... AB or D?
Right LOL//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif If you discount all of that you are left with nothing. They are pretty interchangeable.
I was kinda hoping that somebody would of said that class AB is by far hands down better.Doesn't matter.
Beyond anything extremely low end, you shouldn't hear a difference between them.
If you want a class A/B for your subwoofers...there's nothing wrong with that as long as you are prepared to deal with their relatively lower efficiency.Right LOL
I was kinda hoping that somebody would of said that class AB is by far hands down better.
Looking into getting the US amps AX 4360C and AX 1000C tube amps. But I guess I'll stick to my Merlins.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif
