InfraRed Cams for cars?

Ive seen a few infrared backup cams and such, many only with a short range bout 30 ft..

anyone ever think or try a longer range infrared cam on the front of the car for night driving/driving in the fog?

Yes i understand that you need an infrared lightsource and ive found a few on ebay that claim to light up to a few hundred feet ahead?

anyway just an idea? any input

this way if a cop tries to pull your over at night you can turn all the lights off and drive by the camera, and if your a halfway decent driver you'd get away.

and personally, why do you need this? effective headlights are what they are, effective.

no there not effective headlights... They see a different spectrum of light invisible to the eye. They make a glass of dark soda look like a glass of clear water.(from a pic ive seen)

just wondering if it would be to any advantage in dense fog or situations where its hard to see Or even just for fun.

the new s-class has one...so im pretty sure guys who make ALOT of money thought it would be a good idea to put on the car that normally has options we see in other cars 10 years after it comes out for the S-Class...

i have also seen them used ton cannonball cars so they are out their but im not sure where you would find one...the one on the slcass makes night driving ****ing amazing.

The infraded cam would help you see, but not turn your car invisible:fyi:
