Info for on Ports for SUV

I need some help, On Ports for a sub box. This is what I have right now for my Tahoe.

4-24000 Kinetik (for the subs)

1-1800 Kinetik (under hood)

1-Line driver

4-13.5 w7 JL audio subs

Mids-Highs (focal)

300/4 running Mids/Highs

9886 Alpine deck

4-1000/1 JL amps (per sub)

2-250amp alt. (a alt.) total 500amp.

I had a box made when I was home. I have not yet seen the Pics. My sis told me the subs are facing up/ ports are up also. Would it have been better to face to ports up or towards the rear. Would it make a big difference. I dont not compete, I just do this for fun. Its a daily driver.

Depends......if the box goes right to the back of the hatch, then port has to be up.

yeah if theres no room to breathe against the rear gate and you dont like the way the current box sounds you may need to reconsider size/ number of subs used. I've always done sub up, port back in SUVs

Thanks groundpound4200, I have the space. Justed wanted to ensure if it was better for the ports being up or towards the rear. I will have to hear it first when I get home. If it does not sound good then I will build another box w/subs up and port towards the rear.

Definitely ports to the back...60% of the time, it works better all of the time.

Well I'm sure it will sound good. (Might not but I doubt it) But just because it sounds good, it might sound better or be louder with the port to the hatch. So if it sounds good with it up and you don't change it you won't know what sounds better. Also like stated previously if the port is to close the the hatch it will affect your tuning and might not be able to get the air up front as easy as if the port was up. Trial and error.
