infinity or kicker?

I'd go with the CVRs, but check some other sites first because in some cases, Crutchfields "buy one get one free" is actually more expensive than just buying two from another less popular online store.

crutchfield has the infinity reference buy one get one free and also the kicker cvr's buy one get one free. about a $50 difference. are the kickers worth getting over the infinity's?

I think that depends on your amp power more than anything else because Infinity subs dont like more power than they're RMS rated to handle, which is 350w.

(Ignore the 1,400w peak number they list. They will blow above about 400w or so.)

If that 350w per channel (or 700w 2ohms mono) is what your amp puts out, the Infinty subs would probably sound better than the Kickers.

That's a pretty good deal for 2 CVRs brand new, and Crutchfields a really good company so I say get 'em from them. What amp do you have?
i got a old mtx blue thunder pro 3002. a guy gave it to me and i fixed it.

Would you happen to know the RMS? I can't find much on it, seems to be older. I did find an eBay listing which showed 775w RMS, dunno if that's correct or not, or if that's 4ohm or 2ohm >_

yeah that is about right at 4 ohm bridged.

If that's 4ohm, then I say get the kickers and wire 'em 2ohm, that amp should handle it fine, right? I doubt it'll be enough to blow the CVRs so you should be able to crank it up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

crutchfield told me that the infinity's are more ifficiant 93db and will get just as loud as the kickers from my amp. any truth to that?

I was told that the Infinity's efficiency wasn't measured the same way as other subs, because I was looking at the Kappa Perfects (which are supposedly 96dB, but was told they're really closer to upper 80s o_O).

I can't verify that myself though, it could've been lies and slander, but that's what I was told by someone on here (don't remember who). I'm a fan of Infinity myself (got their stuff for home audio //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif) but I think the CVRs are better than their reference line.
