Infinity Kappa vs Reference

I need a better pair of speakers for my doors. Factory hole is 4". Is the difference in price for the Reference 4012i ($79.99) vs Kappa 42.7i($119.99), is the difference really worth it?? They will be running off of a Clarion APA450 amp. Second qeustion, the Kappas say there 2 ohm, my amp is running the 4 channels in 4 ohm. Is this compatible or not? Will it hurt the quality of sound to the Kappas? Thanks in advance for some advice

You're amp could easily be 2ohm stable so check for 2ohm ratings cuz it could be pushing too much for the Kappas.

My friend has Kappa's and they sound good. Kappa > Ref

I have the 4X6 plate references and they sound great. Im really happy with them. Havent heard the kappas.

Ive heard the references before, they do sound real good. I dont mind spending the extra money for the Kappas, unless its a waste of money. I checked my owners manual on my amp, I dont see anything about hooking up rear speakers in 4 ohm, and front in 2 ohm. Im not that experienced so I may be missing something. Im running rear Blaupunkts 6x9 for strictly bass at 4 ohms (im amazed how much bass they have with teh amps bass boost and the LP switch on).Freinds of mine ask me what kind of sub, I tell them 6x9'a they dont beelive till I show them the speakers. Is there anyone who has heard the Kappas and the references side by side to see if there is a distinctive difference worth the money? Or, does anyone know of a real good 4" with a adjustable tweeter? Thats what I really need. Or I will have to replace my tweeters I blew up in the top of my doors

actually for a 4" even the 3.5" the kappas are amazingly loud...

does anyone know for sure if the Clarion APA450 can run the kappas at 2 ohm in the fronts while running other speakers in the rears at 4 ohms?

I run my speakers at 2 ohms off my 4 channel amp. Those kappa's do scream. I use to have the ref's for fronts and they do sound good as well. Glad I upgrade for front stage though. Was worth it to me.

According to the specs it should be fine. But I am a moron, so take it for its worth

thanks for the replies. Iknew my amp ran 2ohm and 4 ohm, I just didnt know if the ohms could be mixed betwen the 4 speakers.I think im going to go with the kappas..or the references One or the other. Im trying to find a store that sells both so I can hear them side by side. Circuit City isnt selling Infinity anymore.....that sucks that was a good place to listen to them
