Infinity Kappa 63.5i = good for a Saturn?

Those speakers should be ok. Do you like the way they sound? If I were you I would go to a shop and listen to various speakers and get what you think sounds best. Select the HU and amp you like and then listen away. Then go online and get a better price. If I were you I would go with components up front and just a mid bass driver in the rear for fill. You could also put some of the 63.5i coaxials in back. If that is too costly just go with the 63.5i all around. It will still sound better than factory. I would recommend adding some mass loader (dynamat type stuff). It will really help the midbass. Here is a good thread some ways to do this cheap: http://forum.sounddomain.com/ubb/Forum6/HTML/000676.html Also, an amp would help. Try running off the HU and see how it sounds. It will probably have more bass if you add an amp though. An amp will allow you to play louder without distortion. I don't think it will matter if you pick a 2 or 4 channel amp. If I were you I would just pick a 4 channel one though. You can power all your speakers with it.

I definately like the sound of the components over the 63.5i, so maybe I will go with the components in the door, and the midranges in back....

As far as the amp goes, should all the speakers be powered by an amp? I know a sub needs a lot of power, and I know the HU will only put out 22w RMS to each channel.... so an amp would make a lot of sense.... are there any good 4 channel amps that you could recommend that are fairly cheap (sub $150)?

Thanks for the reply!

You don't have to run the rear speakers off the same amp as the front, but I would recommend it. It will just sound better. Get a US Acoustics USX4065 amp (65W X 4). It is $130 over at http://www.sounddomain.com. I have that and it works just fine for me. I have read that it will probably put out a little more than that too. You can then get another amp for your subs and you should be on your way.

You could also get a 5 channel amp and run all your speakers off of it (4 doors and sub). The Alpine MRV-F450 is a good 5 channel amp. http://www.cbrstereo.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=MRV-F450&Category_Code=ALPINEAMPS $350 on that site. If it doesn't have the power you want stick with 2 seperate amps. You can get more power for the same (or less) money if you go with 2 amps. If you get the 5 channel amp, run 1 6 channel RCA cable to it. Don't do 3 seperate 2 channel ones. It will help keep noise out of the system.

For the rear speakers... what is the mounting location of them? If you frequently have rear passangers and you want the music to sound good to them get some coaxials or some compnents in the back. The music will sound "muffled" in back without a tweeter back there. If you mostly just have people in front or don't care about the back a midrage will be just fine. Just something to think about.

Thanks for the help! The rear speakers point up to the rear window, but I do not really have any passengers in the back normally.... so midranges back there should be fine. I will definately check out the 4-channel amp.... if there is one thing I have learned from reading hundreds of messages on this board, is don't "settle"... buy what you want now, and save up for later. I think I will do that with the second amp and sub.

So far I have decided on a Pioneer Premier 840MP, a couple of midranges, an amp (with enough watts to power the four speakers) and components for the front doors. I will save up for a decent sub and second amp.....

Thanks again!

well, after listening to a ton of speakers and HU setups.... I am having a BIG change of heart!

The Alpine 7995 is sweet!! I was able to listen to them at the local car audio shops with a couple of different amps (the Alpine 4ch and a Kicker 300.4) on a few different speakers... the Alpine sounder better than their Pioneers, Clarions and Kenwoods in my view..... and it was cheaper than a few of them!

Speaker wise, the MB Quart speakers were VERY impressive!

Soo many choices.... lol.....
