Infinity 1042W, wired at 4 ohm ?

I have an Infinity Reference 1042W, subwoofer, it's a dual voice coil. RMS power handling is 250, max is 1000.

I wonder if I messed up though, since I ordered a Profile amp, RMS of 300W at 4 ohm, and 410 at 2 ohm.

Can I run the subwoofer at 4 ohm ? Or can I only run it at 2 and 8 ohm ?

shit ... ok if I would decide to go with two 1042W's, can I push them at 2 ohm, 410W from the amplifier ?

My amp will push 410 at 2 ohm, RMS rating for the subwoofer is 250.

Isn't there a risk that I'll blow the subwoofer, by pushing it with 410 rather than 200-250W RMS ?

Great, don't know why I didn't think about it, can't run two 4 Ohm DVC's at 2 ohm duuh, they'll be running at 1 ohm, and the amp is not advertised as 1 ohm stable.

So, my options would be:

1) Push the 250 RMS, 1000 peak, subwoofer at 2 ohm, 410 RMS, 600 peak(amp power)

2) Run two DVC's, rated at 250 RMS each, push them with 300 RMS power at 4 ohm from the amp.

3) Get one or two different subwoofers.

Am I correct ?

ok I guess I'll return it, that's the only real option, because if I want to add another subwoofer later on, I would have to get another amp as well.

So if I have an amp, that pushes 300W RMS at 4 ohm and 410W RMS at 2 ohm, what kind of 10 inch subwoofer (cheap cheap one) should I get ?

Sure am glad I didn't start building the box yet *LOL* was going to go to Lowe's yesterday but changed my mind.

If you want go with the Infinity, what kind of vehicle are you puting this in? Why a 10" and not a 12"?

Called Circuit City, guy claimed it would be ok to run 410 RMS into 250 RMS capable subwoofer ?

Can someone please check these two specs, and tell me, for sure *LOL*, because today is two weeks since I got it, it was on sale, so it may be today or never to return it or not.

You should be ok running that sub with 400+ watts, just be carefull how you set the gains.

'91 Camaro, I was going to put it down the very bottom of the trunk, so depth wise I wouldn't have enough clearance for a 12, just enough for a 10.

However if I go two subwoofer, different story, but I'd prefer to go one for now (money issue)

You would be underpowering them, but would probably be able to push them.
