increasing output in trunk

i have a car and the only way to get sound into the cabin is the hole where the factory sub used to be.

my question is, if i build a ported box with the sub firing towards the rear and the port firing in the hole up into the cabin.. would that be effective as much as having the subs and port firing to the rear?

any input appreciated.

What vehicle?

I would still assume that sub back port back would be your best bet.

Unless you can find someone who has experience with the vehicle, I would say the only way to find out is to experiment.

has anyone ever done something like that though? subs firing back and port firing up into a hole that goes into the cabin? another guy told me just use brute power with subs and port firing towards the rear.

no fold down seats? mine is sub/port forward and it's really loud

Could you not fabricate a round port on the outside of the box, attaching to the hole in the deck?

nope no fold down seats. my plan was to build either sub/port firing to the rear or sub firing rear with port firing directly into that hole. just wanna see if anyone has experience in this. that way i wouldnt have to build two separate boxes.

I have heard that sub/back port/side (driver) is the loudest in some trunk cars, I have no experiance with this, thought I am building a new box this weekend for the lvl4 that, will be about 2.25cubes sub/back 2 4" PVC ports to the driver side. We will see how this sounds.

i will let you know. Right now sub and port back is really the hot tip in my car I think.

I also have a car that the back seats don't fold down. Really sucks, I was trying to see if you can buy kits to make them fold down. But I had no luck and I really dont feel like welding shit just to make my car a little louder.

indeed. not stock with this car though. the earlier s/c'd model had fold down seats. junk yard FTW
