my friend left his wii here, and last time we used it the controller worked fine. no the buttons work and the motion detector wont even give me a hand ont he screen. nothing happened the controller just sat there. ive tried resetting and all the 5th grade common sense shit i could. what can it be.

ok, thats normal.

sounds like something broke on the inside not allowing it to sync to the reciever. are you using the receiver that came with it that plugs directly into the back of the Wii?

yea i checked that as well. so syncing is just the sensor picking up the remote. i checked to make sure it was plugged in. it worked. didnt move one mm. now today it just wont work. batteries are full in them we just changed them yesterday.

maybe try 2 more batteries just to triple check, besides that, it seems like the receiver is bad or something inside the remote the "sender" lol is bad. idk thats some weird shit

well the wii mote works, try opening the front panel on the wii and opening the battery panel on the wii mote, when thats done press the red sync button on the wii console then press the red button on the wii mote and it should sync

Is the sensor bar knocked over? (horizontal IR bar that goes in font of TV)

If it is then the IR camera in the Wiimote is bad. It isn't the motion sensor in the remote that gives you the hand. It is the IR camera on the top. It looks for the IR leds on the sensor bar in front of the TV. Also make sure the sensor bar didnt come unplugged from the back of the wii.

Usually it isn't even assigned a blue dot if not synced. The wiimotes I have had will have all 4 blue leds lit up when not synced. I would of course try re-syncing anyway, but it sounds like an IR cam or sensor issue.
