****in ups bastards

I package stuff at a UPS Store and I've sent plenty of subs/car parts. I don't know why you would've sent it in a crate... I can tell you if UPS did not package the package for you, you will lose the insurance claim. It has to meet UPS standards of how the item is protected. For instance for fragile items we need at least 2-3 inches of packing materials around the object from the box.
We charge a decent amount to pack it but you get our "pack and ship promise" which guarantees you get the insurance money if anything goes wrong. I've never had any problems with the large and expensive items I've packed, from 5,000 dollar picture frames going to museums, to subs, to glass items. I'd like to see pics hehe...
Truf. I read the packaging guidelines for Fedex, and in order for it to pass it has to be able to withstand a 6' drop.

Guess what DD uses as OEM packaging too? Foam.

Pics...
Here a while back I shipped a new DEKA 9A31 to MazzaSec and when he recieved it, shit looked like it been dropped of the conveyor belt 15+ times and then repeatedly smashed into the ground. It was sad, because I packed it the exact way I recieved it from REMY, but I had insurance on it, and Matt got it worked out..

I try to ship USPS when I can, but shit takes so long to ship, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
I have completely switched to USPS Priority mail now, 2-3 days from coast to coast, maximum of like 13 bucks as long as it fits in the large flat rate box ( which holds most NORMAL 12" subs. MT's and shit like that won't fit, but I quit selling that stuff lol

do you work for ups? jus curious cause as the guy that got the package this thing looked like it had been thrown by randy johnson into a brick wall.. i knew i was at a complete loss even before opening the box. this was blatant disregard for customers packages... this wasnt a oop i accidently dropped it. this was at case of the opening scene of ace venturas pet detective starring jim carrey.. my two cents...
I lol'd at the randy johnson remark haha

As for ups I also hate them too,

I had bought a xxx-15 and it came in crate screwed in and stuff, and those idiots must have dropped it off a truck cuz the basket was cracked in multiple places....the best part it said "Fragile" in multiple places..... AND they wouldnt give me credit for it even though it was insured

Riight, so the fact that I personally have shipped hundred of items out without a probem using the foam'd double box method, as well as it being used as the ONLY PROPER way to ship on both 3 stereo forums, and having been approved by numerous authorized ship centers for insurance purposes, I know nothing.
How about the fact that crates are NOT covered as adequate packaging by both DHL, UPS and USPS. Do a little research then, dumbass. and don't tell me to GTFO, I have shipped more shit than you have ever owned.

I'm not saying they are perfect, but I don't have problems when I pack stuff right
let me go out to my garage and brush the dust off my foam machine:laugh: forgot all about that thing:rolleyes: ups, dhl, usps do not cover crates because they don't know how to pick something up and put it down with out eventually breaking it:verymad: and im sure your mom and dad have bought you all kinds of nice stereo equipment.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif wish my mommy and daddy loved me too:crying:

So it had screws in it, so you shipped it in a crate?
its your own dumb fault. Crates ****. They don't absorb any impact, they transfer it all to the subwoofer.... Every wonder why 1970's cars big metal panels have been replaced with crunch zones? to direct g forces AWAY from the important stuff inside...
ummm there's a certain limit to how much weight cardboard can hold... my xxx-18s were shipped from the factory in crates... you really cant ship them any other way

I ordered a computer case from newegg a while back. The ****heads at UPS bent the ****ing thing in half. The top half of the case leaned a good 25+ degrees to the right.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif The box itself looked like the delivery truck ran it over, and the styrofoam inside was obliterated.

We also ordered some metal rulers from a wood working site. The UPS delivery guy THREW the box at our porch and ran. We got an empty box with no bottom to it.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

UPS sucks.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

i've dealt with ups for a long time for work and most of the time they were actually able to do their f**king job. but not all the time:crap: i mean... how hard is it to pick up a box and put it down without breaking it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

HAHAH, I buy all of my own gear thank you very much. If you would have even taken the time to look at my thread on packaging you can find sources for foam close to home. You really have no idea what your talking about. You really need to lay off the smileys too, you try way to hard to be funny with them. How about you show me some proof of the way you describing works, because I have numerous examples of it screwing up

I have shipped shocker sig motors (82 lbs each ) in double boxed cardboard, actually how I packaged them is in the sticky, so yes there is a limit, but your XXX-18s were not more than 82 lbs, I assure you

sometimes they do f up.... http://www.unitedpackagesmashers.com , but crates are the wrong way to go. I have used them when they came as OEM material ( fi case in point, but I don't like it at all

my point is... you shouldn't have too go to these lengths to ship a sub. to in-case a sub in foam is overkill to me and to use an outside source to package something is a little much for me. then again, i never owed a 100 lbs sub either:rolleyes: but shipping a simple run of the mill sub should not be so f**king difficult!

Your point is invalid, as soon as you ship it you agree to there terms, don't like it too bad. If you want universal shipping this cheap, this is the only way to get it. it isnt like they do this stuff on purpose, but when you deal in the volumes they have to deal in to make a profit at these price points you have to move things fast.

I'm guessing you have never worked for UPS or seen the inside of one of there facilities. the workers there must turnover packages at an alarming rate, and the conveyors run about 12' in the air, sometimes they fall off, shit happens.

So really get off my fucking back and get a clue, because your too ignorant to make an intelligent comment.

P.S. since you have never owned a heavy sub, you apparently have never shipped a heavy sub, or anything else heavy for that matter so you should probably just shut your mouth, before I embarass you anymore.

So you could do better?

Your perfect eh?

You could not drop a box ever? 100% of the time? Every day 40 hours a week, hundreds and hundreds of boxes. All for about $8 an hour?

riiiiiiiiiiight

So, yeah I'm a fan of UPS, and any carrier you talk to, you will find somewhere there are a-holes who fuk with the packages, it's known.

And USPS won't even ship some items if they are too heavy/big. And they don't package nearly as well as us //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Again, you pay more for letting UPS pack your stuff, but you're guaranteed your money if something happens to it. If you ship a sub in a box with some newspaper, that's not guaranteeing any safety for the package.
So in all that jabber you're saying they should be able to take the kicking YOUR **** *** drivers put them through? Is it like in the cartoons where in the airport once your luggage goes behind the curtain it gets beat to hell by machines? If you want your packages to live, go with K-fed, Go Fed Ex.
