tryed posting it under amps . . .but go no hits. .

okay so heres the deal. . i have 2 massive p3000s going to a single sub. so to set the amps in phase so the voice coils are moving at the same speed we had to use a tone generater. i took my sub out to paint the box, and i hear that even disconecting the speaker wire can throw the amps out of phase again. . anyone know if this is true???

i'd think as long as you wire it up the same way i wouldn't think it would be. but i have no idea

thats what what i thought to, but an installer told told me otherwise. i wanted some opinions but nobody seems to know. .

give it time plus the more posts it gets it seems like the more people look so someone will help you out

the only way for subs to be outta phase is if u have the +/- wire backwards. Its easy to tell if they are cuz they will pull diff.

U gotta make sure the gains are set correctly and match each other cuz u dont want half the sub receiving more power than the other half

THe only possible way to put them out of phase is improper wiring, t/a or crossovers. But the latter are typically not a real issue in a set up like yours.

Make sure you wire them the right way. Other than that, no worries. Installer is wrong.

Theres acoustic and electric phase going on in your vehicle, however disconnecting the amp and wiring it the same way will in no way cause it to jump out of phase.

The guy was correct in using the tone generator, however he did that to make output level so while using 2 separate amps you were getting the same power, or close to the same power to each coil.
