In-Dash Installation: Switch vs. Grounding

I jsut bought an indash for my car and my question to you guys is what is better a switch or grounding and if a switch how do you install it are there any tutorials? Thanks for the help

Your question doesn't make any sense at all. An indash what? And what does "switch vs. grounding" mean; anything you install needs to be grounded.

He means video bypass.

Most units can be grounded for full functionality...some units need to see an on/off/on cycle from the parking break...and need a switch or a relay.

All depends on what unit you have...

I think he means so he can watch the TV while driving. I don't know if anyone has done a switch but there are a few tutorials for grounding if you have the pioneer.

Is that an alpine??? if so i think you have to use a combination of flipping a switch on and off.

Im not sure, havent had any personal experience with them, I just know that some alpine require that switch and combo, where as others like clarion just need to be grounded.

The guy i bought it from said you could ground it but he said he got a switch for it..and that you could probably get the swithc from like wal mart

Do a search on ebay for alpine bypass module...within the auctions they should list what units it will work for.

there might be a little pink or colored wire that is for the ground, you are supposed to ground it to your e-brake, but i just grounded it up and am riding illegal //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Is that a bad idea? i mean you can always just turn it off right?
